This is a list of company core values. It contains the 20 most inspirational companies in my opinion that have at least one Core Value listed. Each example has their own article with more information, but this will give you an idea of what kind of things these organizations try to do through its culture and business practices.

The “examples of core values in the workplace” is a list of 20 company core value examples. The examples are inspirational for any company looking to create their own set of core values.

20 Inspirational Company Core Value Examples

Company core values are strategic qualities, ethics, attitudes, and beliefs that should drive the business and are important to the company’s purpose and survival. They should be the most important aspect of the company’s procedures, offers, and workers.

We provide inspiring core value examples to help you establish your own core values for your company. We looked at Fortune and Glassdoor’s list of the top major businesses to work for in 2021, and how these organizations have established principles that are distinct from their broader business goal. We chose businesses that incorporate their values into every aspect of their operations, including how they reward staff, handle stakeholders, and interact with consumers.

Hilton Brands is number one.

Now is the time for hospitality, integrity, leadership, teamwork, and ownership.

Hilton Brands’ ideals are summarized in six terms. The one value that isn’t quite self-explanatory may pique your interest: “Now.” “Now: We work with a feeling of urgency and discipline,” Hilton says, elaborating on the term. Customers like urgency in the hotel industry, and Hilton demonstrates consumer awareness by placing a premium on this attribute.

The firm’s principles are also effectively designed around an abbreviation of the company name, which makes it simpler to remember not just for workers, but also for other stakeholders such as customers and shareholders.

Hilton exemplifies its corporate ideals. “Hilton is a great firm that gives advancement chances and a purpose driven culture,” according to one employee review on Glassdoor. This is an excellent example of the company’s Leadership, Teamwork, and Ownership ideals as seen by its workers.

2. HubSpot

HubSpot employees are HEART-centered:

Humility, Empathy, Adaptability, Remarkability, and Transparency

It’s no surprise that HubSpot is the fourth best major firm to work for in 2021, according to Glassdoor.com, a website where workers may anonymously vent concerns. Employees and the term HEART have been at the center of the company’s overall value system, and it shows. HubSpot is fast rising the stock market, which is certainly not a coincidence at a firm where workers actually feel valued. HubSpot has made Glassdoor’s top 20 list for the last seven years as one of the best places to work.

Target Corporation is number three.

More bang for your buck The most memorable shopping experiences A team that is healthy, happy, and valued A more promising future Business practices that are ethical

You won’t get much information on target values if you Google “target values.” Target has replaced the phrase “Values” with “Commitments,” which are action-oriented and indicate a corporate pledge to the world.

Target’s business processes, attitudes, operations, philanthropy, and more are all included in these pledges, which are grouped together under a few key themes. The organization prioritizes the visitor experience, employee participation, pay fairness and benefits, and philanthropic giving and causes.

Lululemon Athletica

Personal accountability Entrepreneurship Honesty Connection of Courage Inclusion of amusement

Lululemon is getting more difficult to ignore. The income of this yoga-inspired apparel firm, which was founded in 1998, hit $1.5 billion in September 2021. One explanation for the company’s success might be that it is living up to its fundamental goal of inclusion by lobbying for higher minimum wages and improved benefits for its employees, recently increasing the minimum base pay for the majority of its locations in North America from $15 to $17.

Lululemon’s value words include a wide range of topics, including employee personal development, innovation, business transparency, and community involvement.

Marriott International, Inc. is number five.

We prioritize people, strive for excellence, embrace change, act with integrity, and serve our community.

Marriott has a set of values that are particularly action-oriented. This structure of “we ARE” and “we DO” helps the rest of the world understand that it isn’t just talk, and that it aims and tries to incorporate values into its business culture and worldwide hospitality brand.

The firm proclaims, creates, and lives its ideals within the employee culture, according to one employee review: “Best employer I’ve ever worked for. “Family environment, incredible leadership, the greatest fundamental principles, and a company that cares about its people.”

6. Comcast

An entrepreneurial spirit, doing the right thing, and acting with integrity are our guiding principles. Respect for each other’s contributions

Comcast, a telecommunications business, is one of many wonderful places to work that emphasizes honesty as a key value, which is visible in its corporate culture. The corporation explains what integrity means to them in their HR portal: “It’s as easy as doing what’s right and treating people the right way.” If that’s all there is to it, it’s understandable that Integrity would be a company’s basic value.

Employee happiness reflects this guiding concept of honesty; a fast scroll down the Comcast Glassdoor page reveals review after review praising employee treatment and internal business culture.

Wegmans is a chain of supermarkets in the United States.

Respect Empowering Caring High Standards Make a Difference

On its Company Overview website, Wegmans advertises a fun fact: more than 7,500 individuals contacted Wegmans in 2020, requesting a shop in their neighborhood. You could have been one of those 7,500 persons if you’ve ever been there. The company’s in-store experience exhibits excellent standards, with a large and diverse assortment, really high-quality items, great customer service, and genuinely happy-looking workers.

It’s also not only a ruse. Employees like working for this values-driven and employee-driven family business, with one Glassdoor reviewer gushing, “Wegmans is a great place to work!” The perks are fantastic, and it’s a terrific place to work.” Employees that report this degree of satisfaction are definitely experiencing the company’s top-down ideals of respect and empowerment.

8. Deloitte & Touche

Integrity Outstanding value to markets & clients Commitment to each other Strength from cultural diversity

Deloitte, a financial services and consulting firm, has long been regarded as a pioneer in creating value-driven workplaces. While the first five principles are typical and maybe expected, the fourth stands out: a business value of cultural diversity as a source of strength.

“Our member firm customers’ business difficulties are complicated and benefit from multidimensional thinking,” the organization elaborates. Working with individuals from various origins, cultures, and thinking processes, we believe, helps our employees develop as professionals and leaders.”

The company not only lives this value in its business practices but is also a changemaker in DE&I across industries. In doing so, Deloitte is lighting the way for companies to follow an inclusive path that doesn’t just welcome diversity but thrives upon it, and that makes employees of all backgrounds, cultures, and thinking styles feel valued and heard.

Zoom Communications (nine)

Community, Customers, Company, Teammates, and Self-Care

Zoom has had a successful couple of years. However, the company’s expansion hasn’t stifled the driving force behind its one and only value: care. This is another value that is particularly internal-focused, communicating directly to and addressing workers. Many business values speak to the team and are therefore included on a firm’s website’s Jobs, Career, or Employee sections. Everyone in the organization may easily learn, remember, and practice this broad overarching value.

Zoom’s culture of caring seems to begin at the top, with CEO Eric Yuan being named one of Glassdoor’s best CEOs for 2021, with a whopping 97 percent approval rating from workers. “Great benefits, perks, communication from bosses, and peer-level coworkers,” one employee exclaims. Eric is a fantastic CEO that really cares about his staff as people… “As a leader, I have faith in him.”

10. Ernst & Young LLP

We are:

Integrity, respect, teamwork, and inclusivity are traits that people exhibit. People with drive, excitement, and the bravery to lead People who form bonds based on doing the right thing

The Ernst & Young approach to values is to frame them as descriptive traits that define every member of its over 282,000-employee global team. With a global presence and long history of being a Big Four accounting firm, its professional employees are a reflection of its values and have continued as a large firm with great success.

11. Vans

Everything we do promotes creativity, and our five values guide us: 1) We are determined 2) We are linked to our customers and each other 3) We are welcoming and 4) We are outspoken and entertaining 5) We are, above all, a family.

Vans is ranked No. 29 on Glassdoor’s list of the top 100 businesses to work for in 2021, and its values contribute to that ranking. If it follows through on its commitment, any firm that promotes some kind of employee pleasure and expression in most of its corporate values can help cultivate a contented workforce.

Vans seems to embody these ideals in its corporate culture, as shown by one of the employee ratings, which said, “Fantastic discount. Fantastic individuals. They put a strong emphasis on growth and development from the start, and their supervisors are quite encouraging.” This sounds a lot like workplace connectedness, inclusivity, and family values.

12. Sanofi

Integrity – Integrity – Integrity – Integrity – Integrity – Integrity – Integrity – Integrity – Integr

Sanofi is a thriving multinational pharmaceuticals firm with over 100,000 workers and a global sales of $42 billion. While the company’s principles aren’t groundbreaking, the company’s use of them to make workers feel appreciated is unique.

A section named “Inside Sanofi” is tucked away under the “About Us” part of Sanofi US’s website, and it offers employee recognition, awards, spotlights, personal tales, and family images. This is a great example of a value-driven organization that values collaboration and treats its workers with real respect and integrity via its actions.

13. Intuit

Compromise-Free Integrity Stronger Customer Obsession Together, We Care and Return Courage

On its Intuit Operating Values home page, financial software services business Intuit provides a lesson on values. It neatly arranges its values here before listing them: “Our operational values are at the heart of our culture and guide how we do business.” Our principles help us stay anchored in the most crucial aspects of who we are and how we function – both internally and externally.” This is an excellent introduction to values-based business in general, as well as how values may motivate a firm to serve a purpose rather than merely make money.

If you have two minutes to spare, watch the corporate values video to hear straight from CEO Sasan Goodarzi on the worth of values and how to apply them to a company’s success.

CoverMyMeds (#14)

You Should Be Yourself Make the Correct Decision Challenges should be welcomed. It’s all about the outcomes. Don’t be selfish.

CoverMyMeds, a disruptive new firm whose stated mission is to “help people acquire the drugs they need to live better lives,” is also disruptive in terms of ideals.

“It’s who we are, not simply something we put on the wall,” says the introduction to the business values. This is the fundamental purpose of values and value statements: they may appear wonderful on the surface, but their worth is just surface-level unless they are lived, practiced, and experienced both within and outside the firm.

Infosys is number 15 on the list.

Our devotion to the following values is shown through our values: Client Benefits Integrity and Transparency as a Model of Leadership Excellence in Fairness

Infosys is a global digital services and consulting firm founded in India. Another catch-all umbrella that encompasses a set of values is the preamble to the corporate values: it helps company personnel to sleep well at night. This is due to the fact that all of its ideals are founded on honesty, integrity, and ethics.

One example of this was the company’s response to the COVID-19 epidemic among its approximately 250,000 worldwide workers. As one employee put it, leadership is obviously interested in applying corporate principles to how they deal with disputes. “I feel that, in the present global environment, Infosys has prioritized the well-being of [its] people before corporate earnings, and that we, as an organization, will emerge stronger on the other side with a stronger link between employees and management.”

Trader Joe’s is number 16 on the list.

No Bureaucracy Kaizen Integrity Product-Driven Customer Service that Wows The brand is the shop. We’re a major grocery store chain with locations all across the country.

While we could easily deconstruct each of Trader Joe’s values and link them to the company’s performance, for the time being, it’s worth mentioning the Japanese term kaizen, which is a value in and of itself. Kaizen is a Sino-Japanese term that means “improvement,” but it has come to mean “continuous improvement” in the business world.

Leadership continues to direct the organization toward constant development and enhancement of the goods, brand, retail experience, and customer service in the framework of a company’s value. “Kaizen” as a fundamental personal or corporate value might benefit us all.

Travel Insurance (nineteenth)

Integrity – Accountability – Honesty

Because insurance is such a lucrative and vital sector in the United States, a corporation that lacks values may have terrible consequences—and Travelers Insurance has many of them. While its three marketable principles are simple honesty, integrity, and accountability, it has more than a dozen value drivers, each of which need its own website and explanation. This merely goes to illustrate that there is no one-size-fits-all method to communicating business values.

In a Glassdoor review, one employee praises the company’s diversity and inclusion values, saying, “They support diversity, inclusiveness, and equality.” They provide competitive compensation and benefits while also encouraging work-life balance.”

18. E.&J. Gallo Winery

Integrity – Respect – Humility – Innovation – Commitment – Teamwork – Integrity – Respect – Humility – Innovation – Commitment – Teamwork

For software businesses, banking organizations, and merchants who are continuously looking for a competitive advantage, innovation is a logical goal and value. But what does innovation have to do with winemaking, an 8,000-year-old industry?

California-based E.&J. Gallo Winery explains its value of innovation like this, “Place great value on big ideas … Challenge the conventional way of doing things — never be satisfied.” And so it is never satisfied, and it demonstrates innovation both in the ways it makes wine and the way it does other business.

Land conservation, energy efficiency, agri-business incubation, and water stewardship projects are among the company’s many commitments to sustainability and ecologically responsible and creative manufacturing.

Discount Tire Number 19

Treat others with dignity and fairness. Taking Care of Those in Need Always do the right thing, work hard, and be responsible. Have a good time

Tires aren’t usually the first thing that comes to mind when we think about having a good time. Discount Tire, the 86th top business on Glassdoor in 2021, relishes fighting that image.

With the ad and persona of a furious elderly woman who returns an unsatisfactory tire to the merchant and chucks it through the plate-glass store window, it applies its sixth value, “Have Fun,” to its whole outward-facing brand narrative.

This example of a corporation applying a value to its marketing, branding, and tongue-in-cheek corporate culture is a case study of effectively adding fun and comedy to an otherwise uninteresting product. Learn about the history of the “Little Old Lady” advertisement from 1976, which is still running today.

MD Anderson Cancer Center is number 20.

Integrity – Discovery – Safety – Stewardship – Caring

MD Anderson Cancer Center’s principles are certainly worth paying attention to, since it is both the top cancer hospital in the United States and Glassdoor’s #90 best place to work in 2021. When a firm in such a sensitive, demanding, and difficult industry succeeds with both consumers and staff, something in its underlying beliefs shines through.

The values of “care” and “caring” should be self-evident to every healthcare professional, but they aren’t. With a few bullet points, MD Anderson expands on this value:

  • We create a caring atmosphere for everyone through our words and deeds.
  • We are attentive to our patients’ and coworkers’ concerns.
  • At all times, we are polite and courteous to one another.
  • We encourage and reward collaboration and diversity.

Employees clearly agree with and feel this valued culture of caring, which aids them in providing care and compassion to their patients in need. “Great culture,” as one critic put it clearly. It’s a fantastic place to work.”

Conclusion

Having company values is important, just like having a business philosophy is important. As demonstrated by the above companies and the examples they set, it’s especially important to have values that are meaningful, authentic, and integral to the company’s vision, mission, direction, motivation, and daily drive. A company that is true to its values comes across as more sincere, trustworthy, purpose-driven, socially conscious, and consistent. A company that lives by its values, in turn, adds value to its brand, workforce, and Conclusion.
