ADP Run is one of the best-known providers for both HR and payroll, and it offers strong features for the construction industry as well. It’s a good choice for small, midsized, and large companies, particularly those needing benefits and HR Benefits. Plus, it can grow from a DIY solution, if you’re just starting out with a few workers, to a full-scale PEO if you’d like to outsource all your payroll and HR needs
ADP earned 4.23 out of 5 stars. It offers advanced reporting and compliances, as well as strong payroll features. Like eBacon and Payroll4Construction, among others, it can provide Payroll that is certified. Like Gusto, it has hiring and onboarding features, but also has background check capability. Pricing for ADP Runs
ADP must be contacted for a customized quotation in most circumstances. It costs $59 per month + $4 per employee if you start with the DIY version. Construction enterprises that want specific payroll or reporting may pay a greater price. It includes startup costs as well, however these are frequently waived or the first few months are free. It costs extra for particular features, much like the rest of our list, but customizes the quotation.

The price overall is still excellent, especially since it allows There are no limits to how much money you can make., unlike Payroll4Construction. Rippling boasts a user satisfaction score of 4.9 out of 5 stars, the highest on our list. It lost points because it charges extra for year-end report prep and access to experts and lacks a pay card option like Gusto, ADP, or eBacon.

Other applications may charge for add-ons, but Rippling is the only one with a completely modular architecture. Rippling also does not sell its payroll feature separately. You must first buy the HR module for $8 per month per employee, and then add further modules as required. The costs shown below are for individual modules; however, you may request a personalized quotation that may save you money if you buy many.

It also provides a variety of job-specific statistics, including those for satisfying local compliances, which may outperform ADP. Gusto is often our top choice for payroll software because of its pricing, User-Friendliness, and customer satisfaction. It lacks a lot of the specialized features for construction that you can find with ADP, Payroll4Construction, and eBacon, however. Nonetheless, if you are a small business that doesn’t do a lot of government contracts or union work, the price and User-Friendliness make it a good choice.
Gusto received a perfect score of 4 out of 5 stars. Gusto stands out since it enables immediate deposit the following day (something only QuickBooks does better). It comes with a good set of fundamental services, and you can add on extras like tax filing and human resources as required.
This service earned 3.87 out of 5 stars. It earned the highest score for Payment Options; it only lacked pay cards, which you can get through an integration. Like ADP, Viventium, and Rippling, it offers customized reports and the basic HR functions, plus multistate payroll and other tools useful to the construction industry. Like QuickBooks, Payroll that is certified may cost extra. As with many of the services on our list, it lost points on pricing for not being transparent on the website and for setup fees. It also lacks some HR and ease-of-use features.
Pricing by Paylocity
We did not receive updated pricing for Paylocity, but our past quote was $300.75 for 15 employees, or about $20 per employee, per month, which included Payroll that is certified and prevailing wages. There was also a setup fee.
Paylocity’s Advantages

You can also set up multistate payroll and use it with QuickBooks for job costing analysis.
QuickBooks earned 3.85 out of 5 stars. It’s one of the best-priced, and unlike most on our list, has integrations to construction software. If you are bidding on federal projects, you can pay a flat fee to integrate with the Sunburst Payroll that is certified solution. The higher plans file your taxes. However, it requires a QuickBooks Accounting subscription, and the help center is the most difficult to navigate of the software we reviewed. It took a hit in part because some tools depend on the QuickBooks accounting integration and because it lacks a pay card option.

Unlike Paylocity, ADP Run, or Viventium, Payroll in QuickBooks does not charge setup fees. Further, you can run payroll as many times as needed (like Gusto).
